Donation Bubble is Coming

Donation Bubble is Coming

A recent release by The Media Audit as reported in the Center for Media Research shows that the number of men and women age 50 and over has increased from 44.6 million to 51.1 million in the past five years. That's 10,000 boomers turning 50 each day!

  • They have an average annual household income of a little more than $42,000.
  • Almost half of the retirees have liquid assets of $250,000 or more.
  • Collectively the liquid assets have a total value of at least $250 billion.

My experience with Christian non-profits is that their donor bases are comprised of majorities in the 55-70 year-old range. I predict that the next 10-15 years are going to be a "bubble" in giving to churches and Christian non-profits. What are you doing to prepare?

  • Do you offer on-line giving on your website?
  • Is it EASY for people to use?
  • Are you using opt-in email newsletters to keep in touch with your constituents?

Don't let this "bubble" leave you behind.
